The BTEC Foundation Diploma in Performance Practice (Acting) is a two-year course designed to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and understanding necessary for further study or training. Throughout the program, students will engage in two mandatory modules: Skills Development and The Performing Arts Industry. These modules focus on the development of technical performance skills and creative techniques, while also exploring their application within the performing arts industry.
By completing this qualification, students will be well-prepared to pursue various pathways within the performing arts sector. They may choose to continue their studies at a higher level, such as pursuing a degree in performing arts or related disciplines. Alternatively, they can explore employment opportunities in areas such as theatre, dance, music, or production companies.

Course information
Practical projects, supported by written work throughout the course. Students will study 4 units across the 2 yearsr, gaining pass, merit or distinction for each one. The qualification is 100% internally assessed and externally moderated by the exam board.

Students who have completed the Performing Arts course at Level 3 have been highly successful in securing places at university (Birmingham, St Mary’s, Southampton) and in specialist dram colleges (LAMDA, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Rose Bruford School of Acting, East 15).
