This course focuses on over 200 years of English and European history from the 15th to the 17th Century. It will provide you with a detailed knowledge and understanding of the political, religious, social and economic changes that occurred in Tudor England, the causes and consequences of the Protestant Reformation in Germany and the government and politics of England in the tumultuous years 1399–1509, which includes the period of the Wars of the Roses.
You will learn the skills of extended analytical essay writing, primary source analysis and the evaluation of historical interpretation, as well as research, debating and presentation skills. You will complete an independent coursework assignment on the historical debate surrounding the Mid-Tudor Crisis.
