Student Support

You are a name not a number at Strode’s college and we are dedicated to helping you achieve your potential. We have a range of support services available to all our students during their time at Sixth Form.

Supporting You

The physical and mental wellbeing of all our students is extremely important to us, so we provide a number of support services to help.

Our Safeguarding team helps students make good decisions and offers a range of advice from digital safety, radicalisation, neglect, to homelessness, mental health and personal safety. The Colleges also provide a fully qualified counsellor that can be accessed during the college day. Our accredited careers and employability team is always on hand to offer impartial and confidential advice and guidance on courses, careers and training.

The student support team can help with:

  • Health and wellbeing concerns
  • Safeguarding issues
  • Financial support while you study
  • Career planning and progression
  • Mental health support
  • Learning support
  • Exam arrangements
  • Keeping your studies on track

Personal Tutors

You will have a personal tutor who is responsible for helping you make the most of College and they are your first point of contact if you have any concerns. Your personal tutor will provide support and guidance, keep a check on your attendance, behaviour and academic performance to make sure you are successful.

You will have a weekly group with your personal tutor which will help to prepare you for life after your studies with discussions on topics including personal finance, independent living and current affairs. You will also have regular 1-1s to review your progress and set targets to help you exceed your goals.
