Course information
Our friendly tutor will guide you through basic hand-building processes, the use of pattern, texture, composition and traditional pottery design. You will learn about the properties of different types of clay, and which clay best suits your ideas.
We will then look at slab build and the coiling technique. We have fail-safe methods to support your making, develop your dexterity and increase your fine motor skills.
2.5 hrs per week over 8 weeks
Classbased
This course is not accredited, it does not result in a formal qualification. Each student’s progression is rewarded through teacher assessment.
This can lead to a higher level Pottery course such as Intermediate.
The size and number of items created will be limited, in order for them to be completed to a high standard and fired. Please note you may need to collect items after the course has finished.
