A Level Three-Dimensional Design is an exciting, hands-on course for students who enjoy designing, making and solving creative problems. Working across a wide range of materials and processes, students will develop innovative ideas through practical experimentation with wood, metal, card, ceramics, plaster, resin, recycled materials and mixed media.
The course encourages students to explore form, structure, function and space while developing skills in model making, prototyping, construction and finishing techniques. Students will investigate the work of contemporary designers, sculptors and makers, using research and experimentation to inform original outcomes that respond to a range of themes and briefs.
The course builds practical craftsmanship alongside creative thinking, preparing students for further study and careers in product design, architecture, interior design, furniture design, engineering, set design, sculpture and the wider creative industries.
