Worked at board level for more than 10 years and more than 30 years of varied business experience in a number of UK, European and international organisations in a strategic and operational capacity. Recently interim Director of Learning and Leadership, Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).

Dr Martin Ham PhD, FTCL, FCII



Dr Ham has spent a distinguished international career in banking, insurance and risk management, becoming Chief Executive of HSBC Insurance (International) Holdings Ltd. He is also a musician and musicologist, having spent 20 years leading Guildford Cathedral voluntary choir and is now a visiting Fellow in the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences, University of Surrey.

Employed as a teacher of Media Studies at Strode’s College in 2003.  Set up and taught AS Philosophy course at Strode’s in 2004, followed by A2 Philosophy in 2007.Elected as Staff Governor (Teaching) in 2007.

Previously Independent Councillor, Runnymede Borough Council; granted Freedom of the Borough in 2005; Strode’s Foundation  Trustee; SCC appointed Governor Thorpe C of E Primary School; retired Financial Director of a private group of companies based in Egham and a Trustee of the Group Pension Scheme.  Non-Executive Director of West Surrey Health Authority.  Married with 3 children, 2 of whom are former students of Strode’s College; also has links with the College through “town twinning” activities.

Mr Phil Radcliff BA Geography (Nott), MSc Management Studies (Bradford), MInst Personnel Development

5 years in research and lecturing at Hallam University, Sheffield. 25 years in Human Resources Management with Diageo and Ranks Hovis MacDougall.  Currently working as an independent consultant in the business and voluntary sector. Married with two children. Vice Chairman from 2004 and Chairman since 2008.

Mr Tim Smith BA (Hons), PGCE, NPQH

Since qualification has worked in a number of secondary schools becoming Head of Sixth Form in Henbury High School and in 2005 Head Teacher of Magna Carta School in Staines, a major feeder school for Strode’s College. A member of the North West Surrey Head’s Association, represents North West Surrey on the Surrey Head’s Council, a member of the Runnymede 14-19 Consortium, North Runnymede Confederation and Surrey Performance Web-Site Working Group.

Previously a Member from 2007 t0 2010 and Chairman of the Policy Committee. Currently Advisor to the Corporation on Strategy.Mr Deane  worked initially in civil engineering, migrating to IT where he has been managing director of a number of companies in UK and overseas. Has a strong interest in music and runs a small local jazz club in his spare time.

Following a career spanning 34 years and eight countries in senior executive positions with the HSBC Group, Jon is currently School Business Manager at St Peter's Catholic School, Guildford. In addition to his role as an Advisor to Strode's College, he is a Local Authority Governor for West Byfleet Junior School. He is an Associate of the Institute of Financial Services and an Hon. Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Scotland.

Head of Internal Audit at Richmond upon Thames Borough Council with responsibility for audit, fraud and risk management. Acting Chief Internal Auditor at Richmond Adult Community College, Richmond upon Thames. Chartered Accountant.

Recently retired after a long career in Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) where he was involved heavily in the global telecoms industry, both in UK and overseas, Mr Rees has become advisor to the Finance and General Purposes Committee.
