Strode’s Footballer Makes England Squad

Luke Neville is officially Strode’s first England footballer! Luke has been named in the final 22 man England Colleges Football Squad and will play his first game against Australia at the end of January. He will also be playing against Wales in March with other fixtures to be confirmed, including possible trips to Latvia and Estonia.

Luke lives in Ashford and chose to join Strode’s after leaving Sunbury Manor School last summer. He is in the first year of his A level programme, combining a challenging programme of Biology, Business Studies, Psychology and Physical Education with his various football commitments.

Luke, a Chelsea supporter, plays for Ascot and trains with Wycombe Wanderers Youth with Scottish international Andy Ritchie. He plays as a central defender and went through 4 stages of England trials before making the final squad.

Luke hopes for a career as a professional footballer but is also keen to go to university with the aim of becoming a teacher or a physiotherapist.
