Geography Field Trip

Geography Field Trip

A group of 62 geography students, travelled to South Wales on Monday 3rd December for a 3 day residential Field Trip, to undertake fieldwork investigations in cold but sunny weather conditions.

Based at Margam Park Field Studies Centre, students investigated the flood risk and the effectiveness of coastal defences between Merthyr Mawr and Porthcawl, visitor impact on the sand dune ecosystem at Kenfig National Nature Reserve, land use changes in the holiday resort of Porthcawl and the success of rebranding in Swansea and Glyncorrwg.

The study centre tutors were very impressed with Strode's students who are now all busy analysing the data collected.

Fiona Easeman Head of Geography said “it was the most successful field trip that I have taken from Strode’s College and I would like to congratulate all the geography students on a splendid effort!”
