Hockey success for students

Congratulations to Dannielle Croucher, James Laszlo, Matt Wells and Ryan Croxon who have all made it through to the final stage of trials for the BCS (British Colleges Sport) England National Hockey Team.

The 4 students successfully made it through the first two stages of the trials and have been selected as the best 16 players to be put forward from the south east to try out for the National team.

If selected, they will represent England and play against other national student sides in Europe. Dannielle, James, Matt and Ryan are all second year students and have all played for the College over the last year and a half.

Matt and James play for Staines Men’s 1st team, James also made it through to stage 3 last year. Ryan and Dannielle have both previously represented the south of England in the U18 team, male and female teams respectively.

The National Trial will take place at Cannock Hockey Club and will consist of a range of assessment activities including Fitness, Speed, Agility, Hockey Core Skills and Game Play.  From this trial a squad of 16-20 players will be selected to represent BCS in training and fixtures throughout the rest of the season.

We would like to wish all four students the best of luck in the upcoming trials!
