Historic Egham, and Strode's, welcomed the Olympic Torch on the afternoon of Tuesday 10th July. After visting Windsor Castle and Olympic sponsors Procter and Gamble, the torch made its way to Egham. Hundreds of people awaited the torch procession, initially in torrential rain so typical of this summer. Many clambered on the wall at the front of the College to get a better view, while others just decided to get soaked!
Strode's acted as host to marshalls, acrobats and jugglers while our Media students filmed the event. Amazingly the sun came out just as the torch preocession approached and the torch exchange took place right outside our main gates. We are pleased to have been involved in this once in lifetime event for our community.
