Nine Strode's students have taken part in a week's workshop led by Royal Holloway, University of London. Starting on the Monday, the aim was to work through the week planning, writing and editing a book which was then sent to the publishers on Friday. The Workshop, called TooManyCooks, is about learning through cooperation with an artefact based end product, in this case, a book.
The students worked with Doug Cowie, lecturer in Creative writing at RHC and Research Assistant Dr Yvonne Skipper and were challenged not only creatively but also in team work.
The selected students were the winners of a short story competition and Strode's Head of English, Karen Griffiths said, ' A lot of our students aspire to move into journalism and the creative arts and this has given them a real sense of writing under pressure as well as the chance to create something of which they can be really proud'.
