Our Travel and Tourism students blossomed
when they were provided with the opportunity to organise the annual Christmas community
tea party for over 50 senior citizens.
On arrival the senior citizens
were offered a selection of tea, coffee and most importantly, a choice of
mouth-watering homemade cakes. As the
afternoon got in to full flow with clinking of tea cups and crackers being
pulled the guests watched as our Performing Arts students entertained them all
afternoon with music, acting, bingo and a music quiz.
It would seem that our captive
audience would have stayed longer just to listen to more of what the students
had to offer.
Sue Haines, from
The Cedars Care Home in Ashford commented “I would like to Strode's College for
a wonderful afternoon and all the effort that was put together to make this
happen, our residents had a good time and walked away with lovely bingo prizes
After a closing thank you, the guests and students
bid farewell in what seemed like a successful afternoon and we look forward to
hosting similar events in the near future.
