Congratulations to Ellie Frost, who recently was named Spelthorne Young Sports Volunteer of the Year. This award is given to the young person who has given up their free time to volunteer in sport.
Ellie who was previously from The Matthew Arnold School is currently studying A Level English Literature, English Language and Law here at Strode’s. In her spare time, Ellie is a keen table tennis player and constantly plays at a competitive level.
Ellie has given up numerous hours of her time as she volunteers at various sporting events, including being the assistant coach for table tennis at the Surrey Youth Games which also included eight weeks of preliminary training before the actual games, she was the assistant coach for Surrey Sports week and helps out every Saturday morning at Ashford Table Tennis Club.
Ellie was against a number of other Young Volunteers who have also done some fantastic voluntary work, it is a credit to her to be named the overall winner and this is a very well deserved award. Sport in Britain depends on volunteers like Ellie and these young people will be the backbone of sporting opportunities in the future.
Well done Ellie everyone at Strode’s is very proud of you.
