Strode’s College are celebrating BTEC success

Once again staff and students are celebrating with a growing number of students leaving Strode’s with BTEC qualifications.  Results in our BTEC National courses are significantly up from previously years  

Over 270 students at Strode’s College chose to study BTEC courses and the College is delighted with its continued 100% pass rate and an impressive 70% of students achieving Distinction grades or above which are equivalent to A / A* at A Level. 

In a number of BTEC subjects the results are outstandingPerforming Arts (Acting) had an impressing 100% pass rate with 100% of students achieving distinction* - merit, Applied Science celebrated with 100% pass rate and an impressive 90% distinction* - merit, Performing Arts (Dance) gained both 100% pass rate and 100% in grades distinction* - merit, while 100% of Business Diploma students passed with 89% distinction* - merit.  

Congratulations to our highest achievers Michael Hearn (ex-The Matthew Arnold School), Ellice Leslie (ex-The Bishop Wand Church of England School), Rhys Joel (ex-The Bishop Wand Church of England School), James Rigden (ex-The Magna Carta School), Stephen Browne (ex-Orleans Park School), Ami Leney (ex-The Magna Carta School), Jack Butler (ex-The Magna Carta School), Toby Kusneraitis (ex-The Magna Carta School), Tegan Sewell (ex-Twickenham Academy), Stephanie Vincent (ex-Thomas Knyvett College), Jasmine Virdee (ex-Thamesmead School) and Millie Jones (ex-The Magna Carta School) who achieved Triple Distinction*. Alongside this, 31 students achieved Double Distinction*. 


Out of these high achievers Toby Kusneraitis, who was formerly from The Magna Carta School, achieved D*, D*, D* in BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Applied Science, Business and Sport and Exercise Science. 


Tegan Sewell, who previously attended Twickenham Academy, gained D*, D*, D* in Art and Design (Photography), Business and Creative Media. 


Stephanie Vincent, who was formerly from Thomas Knyvett College, achieved D*, D*, D* in Health and Social Care, IT and Travel and Tourism.  


Jasmine Virdee, who previously attended Thamesmead School, gained D*, D*, D* in Business, Health and Social Care and IT and Maddy Bettany, who was formerly from Surbiton High School, gained D*, D*, D* in Performing Arts, Acting, Music Performance and Dance. 

Principal, Rowan Cookson said, “I am delighted with another year of fantastic BTEC results, this year we have significantly increased our higher grades which supports the Ofsted Good with Outstanding features grade, which was achieved in December 2016.  

Congratulations to all our students; I wish them the very best for the future, whether they are progressing to university, an apprenticeship or directly into employment.”
