Strode's Young Enterprise at BP
The Strode's College Young Enterprise teams, MyID and Average Joes, took to the stands at BP half year festival in Sunbury to show off what they had achieved so far this year. The showcase event had the students creating a trade stand and showing off their products as well as their business plans and finances so far. MyID have chosen personalised memory sticks as their product whilst Average Joes have manufactured 'preloved recycled' phone socks. The idea is to get preloved clothing perhaps too small or with a rip so unwearable and recycling it to be quite simply something to put a mobile phone in to prevent it getting scratched and damaged whilst in a handbag. Whilst phone socks are already on the market, the unique selling point of their product is that it is recycled and has designs that are funky and different. The teams had to stand by their stand as they faced a grilling from the judges about their products and future business plans. Each group held their own well and the judges were left impressed by how well they answered the questions. For each of the groups it was the first time they had been judged in the competition and both groups are hoping to make it to the finals in March. MyID (pictured) said they now had a better idea of what was expected from them for the next stages and were planning on how they could use feedback to improve their chances on 27th March!
