Travel and Tourism students pitch to ‘Dragons’
BTEC Extended Travel and Tourism students had last week the opportunity to test their business knowledge and presentational skills by pitching business projects to two senior managers from Barclays Bank.
Teacher Deborah Pirinen commented, ‘ It was a fantastic event, as the quality of the student pitches was honestly the best I have ever seen (Future Lord Sugar’s ‘Apprentice’ candidates for sure).’
The BTEC Extended Travel and Tourism students were given a brief of starting a new walking tour company and had to come up with their own original ideas and cover the financial side too, with a detailed cash flow statement.
With such high quality pitches, it was very difficult for our two ‘Dragons’ (Barclays Area Manager -Simon Cossons & Barclays Business Manager - Graham Joslin) to pick a winning team, as there were two teams very closely tied, but in the end they chose:
Winner: ‘Walk with Us’ winning £100.00 worth of W HSmith vouchers, donated by Barclay’s Bank
Runner – up ‘London’s Walking’ winning a large box of Belgian chocolates
