Strode’s student Thomas Banks gains a place on the Oxford Pathway
Strode’s student Thomas Banks gained a place on the Oxford University Pathways Programme. Thomas who is studying A Levels at Strode’s secured a highly sought after place at the Oxford University’s Pathway Programme which enabled Thomas to spent the day as an Oxbridge student including free accommodation and support towards travel.
The day gave Thomas a realistic insight in becoming an Oxford student. He had a taster session on predator-prey interactions in the morning, which he found very interesting and enjoyable. Thomas had lunch with current students in the canteen and then a guided tour of St. Peter's College. The afternoon session focused on deep-sea biology and the Oxbridge application process.
Thomas found out about this chance through our A*spire programme and thought it was a great opportunity not to miss.
Life after Strode’s Thomas hopes to go to Cambridge University to read Natural Sciences (biological) and maybe become a research scientist.
Well done Thomas and keep us posted!
