A group of History A-Level students have recently returned from a fantastic trip to Madrid and Barcelona.
As soon as they arrived they were immediately immersed in the Spanish culture as they participated in a series of trips. In Madrid they undertook a Civil War focused walking tour and visited the Museo Reina Sofia to see in person Picasso's legendary Guernica. They also took the opportunity to take a day trip outside the city allowing them to compare and contrast the extraordinary and imposing totems to power constructed by Phillip II and General Franco, El Escorial and the Valley of the Fallen.
In Barcelona, they visited the Museo Picasso, took further Civil War focused Walking Tours, Visited the city of Barcelona Museum with its Roman exhibits and climbed to the top of the city to visit the Castle Monjuic.
It was a life-changing and unforgettable experience.
