Over 400 students and their parents attended our latest Higher Education evening and Information Fair on Wednesday 9 March, which was a fantastic success. The event provided students with an excellent opportunity to meet university representatives, higher education organisations and Gap Year companies to answer their questions and provide useful insights about degree programmes, facilities, student finance and university life in general.
The evening was supported by over 55 Universities, Higher Education organisations and Gap Year companies including University of Bath, Student Finance and British Exploring Society, who spent the evening talking to parents, staff and students about the options available to them after their time at Strode’s College.
A key part of the event was the opportunity for the attendees to listen to three interesting and thought provoking presentations about UCAS and the application process from our guest speakers Brooke White (University of Surrey), Heather King (University of East Anglia) and Mubarik Ibrahim (St Mary’s University, Twickenham)
In addition, students and parents could also take the opportunity to speak in a relaxed atmosphere to our Careers department and members of the Senior Leadership Team or go along to a drop in 1-1 session about progression on to Dance and Drama schools.
We had fantastic feedback from everyone especially about the unique nature of having both students and parents together which helps ensure a consistent message.
