Media and Film Day

Organised by the Media Department, this event gave students the opportunity to hear from professional practitioners and industry experts. The speakers included:

George Hawes – Commercial Manager, Deltatre Media, currently account managing clients and projects such as:
• TV Graphics and data services for BBC Sport's football coverage 
• Results system, TV graphics and B2B web services for Fast Track on UK Athletics
• All UK-based TV Graphics and data gathering operations for UEFA Champions League
Other work includes Broadcast supervisor on irb.com's live highlights production for the 2011 Rugby World Cup and Graphics operations for BBC MOTD and Final Score. He will also be working on the Olympics and Euro 2012 this summer.

Jonathon Cenzual Burley – Film Director, The Soul of Flies

Jonathon screened his latest film that was recently released at the London Film Festival and afterwards hosted a question and answer session discussing the process he went through to make the film.

Elliot Grove founded the Raindance Film Festival in 1993, the British Independent Film Awards in 1998, and Raindance.TV in 2007. Raindance is dedicated to fostering and promoting independent film in the UK and around the world. Based in the heart of London, Raindance combinesRaindance Film FestivalTraining Courses, the prestigious British Independent Film Awards.and Raindance.tv  Raindance training courses have been attended by Guy Ritchie, Mathew Vaughn, Christopher Nolan, Paul Brooks (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and many others.  He has produced over 150 short films, and 5 feature films. He has written eight scripts, one of which is currently in pre-production.
