Independence Day - learning about being your own person for longer

Independence Day - learning about being your ow...

Ever wondered what the future has in store? On Thursday the Health and Social Care students’ visited the Beechwood Court assisted living development. This was a follow up to managers from a2dominion presenting a tutorial on working with older adults.

Strode's students were given a guided tour of the flats and invited to join in with various activities during the day. Some were involved in a competitive game called "Beetle Drive" others joined the singing  along with the regular outside "volunteer choir". One of the ladies in the choir is 105.  For the Strode's students to equal her age they would have to live until 2104! Now that would be something to sing about!

This event was part of the unit on Development through Life Stages for their BTEC level 3 in Health and Social Care.
