Strode’s A level PE and BTEC Sport and Exercise Science students, had the chance to sample a day in the life of a Sport Science professional by taking part in a series of human physiology experiments at Kingston University.
Each student had an opportunity to use high tech analysis equipment and collect data related to their personal fitness. Dr Hannah Moir from the university taught them how to apply theoretical concepts to the physiological data collected. The highlight of the day was a selection of students participating in a V02 Max test which accurately recorded the volume of oxygen used during maximal exercise.
The students were also shown a range of degree courses suitable to their career pathways and had a chance to ask questions regarding roles and responsibilities of sport and exercise physiologists.
