Strode's College, Egham, celebrates another year of fantastic results. We are the largest provider of A Levels in north west Surrey with over 1000 students having taken either A Level or AS Level exams this summer.
We achieved an overall pass rate of 98% at A Level and 100% success in 28 A Level subjects, with over a third of our A Level students achieving either one or more A* or A grades. All our BTEC Level 3 programmes in Years 1 and 2 achieved 100% pass rate, with 47% of our Year 2 students achieving a Distinction or above. Alongside this our Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) has proved to be very popular with our students as 47% achieved an A grade or above.
Congratulations to our highest performer Daniel Madden (ex-The Royal Belfast Academical Institution) who achieved three A* and one A grade. The following students achieved three or more A* or A grades in all of their A Level subjects: Phoebe Davies (ex-Thamesmead School), George Bowman (ex-The Magna Carta School), Polly Thisdell (ex-Sir William Perkins), Alexander Liddiard (ex-The Magna Carta School), Sacha Dennett (ex-The Magna Carta School), Michael Venables (ex-home tutored), Harry Welch (ex-Jubilee High School), Justyna Szablowska (ex-Thomas Knyvett College), Peter Gerbert (ex-Jubilee High School) and Fabia Huda (ex-Scholastica, Bangladesh). Out of all of the 11 highest achievers three of these students came from The Magna Carta School.
Acting Principal Rowan Cookson said, ”We are delighted with our students’ achievements and another excellent year for Strode’s. So many of our students have achieved fantastic results and we are absolutely thrilled for them. As always, this reflects the huge amount of hard work put in by our dedicated College staff who specialise in teaching 16 to 19 year olds, coupled with dedicated support from students’ parents. Strode’s offers something quite unique from school sixth forms with the wide range of subjects and qualifications available which includes over 40 AS / A Levels, a full range of Level 3 and Level 2 BTEC courses, with great diversity and high expectations.
Congratulations to all our students and we wish them the very best for the future, whether they are progressing to university, an apprenticeship or directly into employment.”
