Strode’s Politics students had the opportunity to contribute and participate in the Magna Carta Constitutional Convention. Students participated in a challenging series of debates with other students from schools and colleges around the country, such as Eton Boys and Wellington School. The Constitutional Convention provided an important opportunity for young minds to not only engage with the important traditions embodied in Magna Carta and its legacy, but also to interact with others in debate.
The experience has made the students feel that they are more likely to attend University after their studies at Strode’s. The students said that they ‘had a fun day out, learned about the historical and cultural relationships’ of the Magna Carta and its relevance to today as well as ‘developing team work and problem solving skills’.
