Strode’s dance students participated in the Royal Ballet School Performance. The students involved had a fantastic opportunity to work with other similar aged students countrywide and gain an understanding of the art form of ballet through active workshops and interaction at the Royal Ballet School.
The experience was both beneficial and enjoyable as it contributed to the BTEC dance students’ knowledge, understanding and practical skills. The performance was based on Kenneth Macmillan’s ‘Manon’, a piece inspired by a short novel about love and greed, written by French author Antoine François Prevost.
Strode’s College performance was choreographed by Marc Dodi and Rhian Robbins; they both focused on the main character Manon and her journey to destitution. The work process involved many hours of dedication from our dancers.
