Strode’s students studying the, BTEC Applied Science (Forensic Science) took part in a Crime Scene Investigation workshop run by Rightangle Events.
The students took part in a range of fascinating activities, including analysis of blood spatter, forensic dentistry, ballistic examination and fingerprint analysis. The students secured the crime scene and collected the evidence using all relevant health and safety protocols. They learnt about the correct way to package evidence to ensure that the chain of evidence was secure and what measures are necessary to avoid contaminating a crime scene.
The students worked very hard and were thoroughly engaged by the tasks set. They learnt an enormous amount about the skills and underlying knowledge required in the field of forensic science and got some real vocational experience from the event.
All the students really enjoyed the day and are looking forward to completing their Forensic Evidence Collection assignment!
