The Surrey Enterprise Business Partnership Awards.
The OCR 14-19 Creative and Media Diploma “Red Button Challenge” Project was held over 6 weeks during the summer term with students from the Spelthorne consortium. The project paired up NDS, a provider of interactive television applications, with 20 14-15 year olds and asked them to answer the question, “What could happen when you push The Red Button on your TV remote”. The project was incredibly successful with a culminating event held at the NDS offices in Staines, where students pitched their final ideas and a winning team was selected.
The “Enhanced Senses” Team won a cash prize and a trophy. This project was honoured by the Surrey EBP awards on Wednesday night as the project had been shortlisted for its contribution to the links between education and business in Surrey. Patricia Fryer from NDS attended in support of Javad Reza and Jack Green who presented the project to a large crowd at Hythe Primary School in Pooley Green.
