The sun shone brightly on Saturday morning as 13 heroic members of staff donned their grottiest running gear and old Strode’s football shirts and took up the NUTS challenge in aid of the Anthony Nolan Cancer charity!
Heavy rain on Friday night meant that the ground in Dorking was absolutely saturated – the first challenge was getting parked! Then came the race itself – at 12pm the team set off - 100 obstacles (most of the watery variety) over 7km. Cold, muddy but great fun! The team dragged one another through lakes, over scramble nets and through the most disgusting smelling mud pits we’d ever known.
By the time we finished we were caked in mud and utterly exhausted – but we did it! The whole team finished and in doing so raised £600 for the charity. Our thanks to our supporters and sponsors. What a great way to start March! There’s another race in August if any of you fancy it?
