“Strode’s Got Talent” provided the college with one of the most anticipated and well attended events of the year so far … a special afternoon where students had the opportunity to come together, support fellow students as they performed on stage and let their hair down. The atmosphere on the day was truly amazing as the crowds raised the roof off the Sports Hall with their excitement and energy, cheering on the three solo vocal performers and a mentalist magic act.
The four contestants competed against each other in order to win votes from the audience for the much coveted title of " Strode's Got Talent 2013". The performers were supported on the day by our very own Sharon Osborne (Nicky Breslin) and Louis Walsh (ex-student Jake Bessant) who encouraged them all to seize their big opportunity.
As the competition came to a close the audience unanimously voted for Oliver Adams as the winner of “Strode’s Got Talent 2013” after he captivated the audience with his card tricks and mind games. Oliver, who is currently studying AS-level Spanish, Psychology and BTEC L3 Diploma in Creative Media Production at Strode’s, has always wanted to perform mentalist magic after seeing his idol Derren Brown performing live on stage.
The afternoon was hosted by our Student Council and all monies raised will be going to the Antony Nolan Cancer Charity.
Well done to everyone who took part – there is certainly a lot of talent at Strode’s.
