Our first year BTEC Media students have been finding out what it’s like to work behind-the-scenes in the music video business at the British Music Experience, Greenwich Peninsula.
The students worked in teams to develop a new artist as a sellable brand with a unique style and inventive merchandise and marketing. They were then given the opportunity to explore the BME museum, allowing them to play along to popular rock and pop songs, discover the history of British music and its relationship to culture, and see how the technology with which we listen to music has changed through the eras.
The trip was a preparatory activity for students who will be producing music videos for real artists in the forthcoming months. We will update you with more details on this project in January!
