A2 Fine Art students visited the Tate Modern during October. The students had the opportunity to spend the morning looking at the work of Saloua Choucair, a Lebanese abstract artist from the Middle East. Saloua is a pioneer of abstract art working in both paint and sculpture using mediums such as wood, metal, stone, ceramics and fiberglass.
In the afternoon the students attended a workshop, led by Tate educators, where they viewed various work from the Tate Modern permanent collection, making connections and developing context. This will provide valuable experience for the students to view their own work.
A great day was had by all.
