British Colleges National Finals

Strode’s College represented the South East Region at the British Colleges National Finals on the 23rd and 24th March. Students from the College competed in Trampolining, Volleyball and Golf and all contributed towards the South East coming runners up in the overall competition.

Matt Thompson (BTEC Sport) was chosen as the Men’s Team Captain for the South East. Top honours went to Fiona Gartland who was awarded a silver medal for coming second place in the Women’s Trampolining and contributed towards the South East winning the event.

Iain MacKay came 4th overall in the Men’s Golf competition, having had to battle against very rough playing conditions. The Men’s Volleyball Team which consisted of Dan Hunt, Alex Pasick, Jake Newbury, Liam Levi, Matt Thompson, Sam Foley, Steve Gaunt and George Armstrong, came a respectable 9thplace after facing some established volleyball academies, with their final match of the weekend a win against Scotland.

Overall, it was a very successful weekend and all of the Strode's student representatives did the College proud!
