Outstanding Results at Strode's

For the eighth consecutive year Strode’s A level pass rate has improved and now stands at 99% with 100% passes in 32 subjects. With over 1000 entries at A level, Strode’s has more candidates than all other sixth forms in the Boroughs of Spelthorne and Runnymede combined.

The results confirm the findings of the recent Ofsted inspection which found the student support offered at Strode’s ‘outstanding’ and numerous examples of good practice.

BTEC results were also outstanding. All BTEC Dance students gained Distinctions while no less than 26 students gained Double Distinctions in subjects like Travel and Tourism, Media Production, Sport and Art and Design.

Principal Frank Botham praised the work of students and staff, ‘This year’s Ofsted inspection reported highly positively on the work of the College, its range and the way we try to support learning on an individual basis. It is gratifying to have our highest pass rate ever to confirm these findings and the quality of the student experience at Strode’s. I congratulate all concerned.’

  Strode's at Supreme Court Minimize

Students from the Department of Laws really shined at the Opening Ceremony of the Supreme Court on Friday 16th October 2009. They demonstrated a clear ability to present a moot and argue points of law before seven Supreme Court judges. Questions flowed from the judges, but the students responded with confidence and charm.

The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, David Cameron, and others complimented them on their success. They spoke with the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Archbishop of Canterbury and even John Roberts the Chief Justice from the US Supreme Court. The number of senior Judges and dignitaries who stopped me to congratulate me on the success of the students is beyond counting. Well done to all of the students involved. You are stars.
