Strode’s provides a wealth of opportunities for students who are Gifted and Talented, whether previously identified at school or here at College.
A*spire Programme
Do you aspire to go to a top university and reach your full potential? Our Aspire Programme will make the most of your ability and help you to succeed. Students will usually have a number of A/A*s at GCSE and be prepared to work hard!
Our Aspire Programme offers you:
- Guidance to make the best choices at A level for the universities you
want to go to
- Sessions to stretch and challenge your brain to help your intellectual development
- Support from subject staff to achieve As and A*s
- Talks from professionals in competitive professions
- Advice on applying to Oxbridge and the Russell Group universities
- Support from prestigious universities with whom we work in partnership, such as Royal Holloway, Surrey, Reading and Southampton
- Workshops with Oxbridge staff on making applications and the interview process
- Preparation for university entrance tests
- Mock interviews
- Coaching and mentoring opportunities
All students on the Aspire Programme will be encouraged to take the Extended Project Qualification, which is highly regarded by universities. This will develop your research and independent study skills essential for success in Higher Education. Students will also be encouraged to participate in extra-curricular activities such as volunteering, sport, music, mentoring and Student Council which will develop your leadership skills and give you an advantage.
