Students come first
It is your future, so we will work with you to create your individual and personalised programme of study, helping you to achieve your aspirations for the future. You can attend our Open Evenings and taster days to get some ideas. You will be guided through your options in detail at your one-to-one admissions interview. We will help you at every stage by supporting, guiding, listening and advising you of the different options available at Strode’s.
Strode’s College is the largest provider of A Level education in North West Surrey, offering over 40 subjects at A Level, a growing range of BTECs and a variety of fantastic enrichment and sporting activities to work alongside your studies. At your one-to-one admissions interview we will advise and guide you by creating the perfect programme of study to suit your needs.
Our teachers are highly qualified, friendly, approachable and full of ideas. Their doors are always open and they want to share their knowledge and experience about the area they work in so you can make the most of your Strode’s experience.
Are you up for being really challenged intellectually? If, like many of our students, you have been recognised as Gifted and Talented at school, whether it be academic, sporting or artistic, or you have achieved a minimum of 3 A* GCSE grades in traditional subjects, we will talk to you about our A*Spire programme. Our A*Spire programme will help you to expand your capacity and help you make the most of your unique gift.
Support 4 Learning
At Strode’s, we want to support you every step of the way. We will help you settle in quickly and our emphasis on care and support means that academic achievements and personal happiness go hand in hand.
If you need support in time management, guidance on writing essays or revision, mentoring or have issues with your learning, you will receive all the support you will need at Strode’s.
We post regular reports on Moodle, our virtual learning environment, and hold regular review evenings; and we produce a monthly newsletter via the parent section of the website. All of these allow parents or carers to be informed and to know how you are doing to help us to support you at Strode’s.
You will be given the opportunity to take part in our enrichment activities and complementary courses, try out new things and meet new friends. All of these are great preparation for university, employment and life after college. You could go on trips in the UK or abroad, or take part in activities related to your studies. You will also be a member of our Student Union, and may join our Student Council which organises social events right through the year, including the Christmas Fair and charity fundraising events.
Supporting your Success
We offer guidance and support for your future. Our dedicated Careers and Employability Department, along with our tutorial system, will assist you with progression to the next stage of your life after college. Whether to higher education, apprenticeships or employment - they will help you get there.
We offer a blend of traditional andh modern facilities. Over the last couple of years we have been investing to provide top quality teaching spaces and social areas. You will find modern classrooms, excellent IT, sporting, performing and creative arts facilities. Our Learning Centre offers a large volume of resources for both independent and group study. Recent development has been in our Runnymede Building which offers new state-of-the-art science teaching and learning facilities.
Location, Location, Location
We are served by excellent transport links which enable student to come from a very wide area extending throughout North West Surrey, Slough, Windsor and West London. Strode’s is a five minute walk from Egham train station, with direct service from Bracknell, Ascot, Sunningdale, Virginia Water, Staines, Ashford, Feltham, Twickenham and Richmond.
At Strode’s Sixth Form College, you will be with like-minded people who want to work hard, do well and get on in life. We are a close knit community of around 1100 students aged 16-18 and we are large enough to offer an extensive range of courses where most combinations of subjects are possible. However, we are small enough to build relationships with students and staff who set high standards but help you to achieve.
